Photos by Robin Hill (c)On the left is the new Soho House in Miami Beach designed by Shulman and Associates, and on the right is Melvin Grossman's Deauville Radisson designed in 1957. (where the Beatles played on the Ed Sullivan show in 1964) Note the similarity in the designs of the Brise Soleil.

Photos by Robin Hill (c)On the left is the Crystal House in Miami Beach designed by Morris Lapidus in 1960 and is inspired by the Architecture of Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe. On the right is Chad Oppenheim's, 10 Museum Park in downtown Miami from 2007. I find it particularly interesting to note the similarities of design especially the volumes toward the top of the buildings. There are many examples of this in Miami.
As an architectural photographer in Miami, I am always on the look out for new buildings and how some of them are related in certain design elements to buildings of the past. I find this conversation between generations of Architects fascinating.
